Prime Power (PRP) is for unlimited running hours

hours. Standby Power (ESP) is the maximum output during a utility

backup; choose PRP for continuous or semi-continuous use like

What is the difference between Open Type and
Silent Type generators?
Both use the same engine and alternator. Open Type
has no enclosure — ideal for dedicated engine rooms with existing
ventilation. Silent Type adds a soundproof canopy that reduces noise
from 85-100 dB to 65-75 dB(A) at 7 meters, making it suitable for

How do I calculate what size generator I need?
Add up the wattage (kW) of all equipment running
simultaneously. For motor loads, account for starting current which
can be 3-6× the running current — this is the most common sizing
mistake. Multiply your total by 1.25 for a safety margin. Example:
200 kW total load → select at least 250 kVA rated generator. Not

Does the generator come with a fuel tank?
Yes. Generators under 1000 kVA typically include a
base-mounted fuel tank capable of running 8 hours at full load.
Larger units above 1000 kVA may require an external bulk fuel tank,
which ZIQI can supply as an option. Daily fuel tank capacity can
also be customized at order time.
Can ZIQI generators run on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz?
Each generator is factory-configured for either 50
Hz (1500 RPM) or 60 Hz (1800 RPM). Specify your required frequency
when ordering. ZIQI supports both standards and can customize
voltage output — 230V, 400V, 480V, or other configurations — to
match your local grid requirements.
What is an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)?
An ATS monitors the mains power supply. When it
detects a failure, it automatically signals the generator to start
and transfers the load from mains to generator — typically within
10-15 seconds. When mains power returns, the ATS transfers back and
shuts down the generator. ZIQI supplies ATS panels as a standard
option for all standby installations.
What maintenance does a diesel generator require?
Routine maintenance includes: oil and filter
change every 250-500 hours, fuel filter every 500 hours, air filter
inspection every 500 hours, coolant check every 1000 hours. For
standby generators that rarely run, perform a monthly 30-minute test
run at 50%+ load to keep the engine healthy. ZIQI provides a
